Que significa la "a" azul en el menu de Google Chrome Canary

Estos dás Google Chrome Canary me ha estado trayendo varios problemas, por que como que se me bloquea el teclado en determinadas circunstancias, no estoy seguro a que se deba, pero tambien desde hace unos dias he notado una misteriosa "a" azul justo en el menu de Google Chrome Canary algo que no sucede ni con el Google Chrome normal y con el Chromium que tengo instalados.

Busque todo el fin de semana a que se debia, y no halle respuesta hasta que hoy por Twitter encuentro este artículo que esta siendo muy difundido por todo lado:

'If you are running the Canary or Developer version of Google Chrome on Windows, you may have noticed that Google displays an "a" next to the menu button of the browser for some time now. There is no indication why the "a" is displayed next to it, and if you click the menu, no hints are revealed why it has been placed there.

If you run different Chrome channels, Stable for example, you will notice no "a" next to the menu button. So what is that all about?

I first thought that this indicated an update of sorts, as Google highlights updates or new extension installations in a similar manner. That's however far from it.

Y verificando la version de mi navegador me dio la imagen que hay en el post
